Who We are & How We Work

Gregory R. Knight obtained his law degree Magna Cum Laude (top ten percent) from BYU in 1994, where he served as Executive Editor of the BYU Law Review.  He is a member of the Order of the Coif.  He graduated in 1991 from BYU Magna Cum Laude with a B.A. in History with Honors.  He was the valedictorian of the History Department.

After practicing law in Dallas and Phoenix with private law firms, Greg spent several years in the corporate world working as an in-house attorney to several major international hotel chains.  As Assistant General Counsel for Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide, Inc., Greg had significant involvement in Starwood’s acquisition of the Westin Hotel Chain.  He was also involved in Starwood’s merger with the Sheraton hotel chain in 1998.  After leaving Starwood, Greg worked for Park Plaza International and Olympus Hospitality Group, where he eventually was promoted to Vice President and General Counsel.

In 2002, Greg left Olympus to start his own law firm in Mesa, Arizona. His practice involves estate planning, probate and trust administration matters as well as real estate and business transactions. His clients come from across Arizona and the United States.  He also has clients in places as diverse as France, Japan and Madagascar. Greg is a member of the Arizona Bar Association and the Texas Bar Association.

Greg continues to be active in the community.  He has served on the Board of Trustees for the Maricopa County Bar Foundation, a non-profit charitable foundation that raises and distributes money to legal service organizations for the poor and underprivileged. He also served on the Board of Directors for the Friends of the Mesa Art Center.  Greg also served several years on the Board of Directors for the United Food Bank, providing food to the hungry in the East Valley and a large portion of Eastern Arizona.

Greg and his wife Jenet (Perkinson) reside with their four sons in Mesa, Arizona.  Mr. Knight served a two-year mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Taipei, Taiwan and is fluent in Mandarin Chinese.

Greg enjoys scuba diving, snow skiing, traveling, playing the piano and guitar, coaching his sons’ various sporting teams, and hanging out with his wife and boys.  He has been involved in the Boy Scouting programs for almost 15 years.
