
After practicing law in Dallas, Texas with a large firm, Gregory R. Knight moved to Mesa, Arizona. From 1995 to 1997, Mr. Knight worked for a law firm in Phoenix, Arizona, with an emphasis in real estate and business transactions. From 1997 to 2001, Mr. Knight worked as an in-house attorney to several major international hotel chains. As Assistant General Counsel for Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide, Inc., Mr. Knight had significant involvement in Starwood's acquisition of the Westin and Sheraton hotel chains. As Vice President and General Counsel of Olympus Hospitality Group in Scottsdale, Arizona, Greg was involved in numerous hotel and business transactions around the world. Greg eventually left Olympus to start his own real estate and estate planning firm in Mesa, Arizona.
Greg obtained his law degree magna cum laude (top ten percent) from the J. Reuben Clark Law School at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. He served as the Executive Editor of the BYU Law Review. He is a member of the prestigious Order of the Coif. He graduated as valedictorian of the BYU's History Program in 1991with honors.
Greg has been actively involved with legal and community groups. In 1989, he was involved with Project Help in the San Francisco Bay Area. He served as an intern on the Arizona Supreme Court to the Honorable Robert Corcoran in 1991. He has served on the Board of Trustees of the Maricopa County Bar Foundation, the non-profit arm of the Maricopa County Bar Association, which raises and distributes funds to legal organizations serving the poor and underprivileged. He previously served on the Board of the Mesa Arts Center and is currently involved in the United Food Bank. Greg is an active writer and has published several articles and is the author of one book on 19th Century Western American history.
Greg is married to the former Jenet Perkinson of Mesa, Arizona and has four sons. He served a two-year church
mission to Taiwan and is fluent in Mandarin Chinese. He enjoys classical music, piano, scuba diving, and snow skiing,
among his many other interests.
